The Apple Watch Series 6 was an incremental update to the Apple Watch Series 5, with only minor updates above the hood and plenty of novelty under it, all packed into a premium wearable experience.
The Series 6 stayed true to Apple’s design language, offering the elegant design and premium feel often associated with Apple devices — in fact, the exterior is nearly identical to the previous model. The edges and corners are rounded, and the screen seamlessly blends into the chassis.

The Series 6 features a 1.78” screen on the 44mm model and a 1.53” screen on the 41mm model. Despite the minor difference in size, both screens are Always-On Retina OLED displays with a pixel density of 326 ppi (pixel-per-inch).

The biggest difference, at least when it comes to the exterior, is on the sensor array at the back of the watch. The new array now accommodates the blood oxygen sensor, which is one of the biggest under-the-hood updates compared to the previous model of the Apple Watch.
Other differences include an Apple S6 SOC powered by a dual-core CPU and PowerVR GPU running watchOS 7.0 and more power-efficient hardware, leading to a negligible reduction in battery size and weight.
